Project Overview

In today’s antisemitic publishing climate, Jewish authors have been blacklisted, canceled and silenced, losing book contracts, speaking invitations, festival appearances and events. That’s why we created “The People of the Book”, a new 12-episode TV talk show featuring prominent Jewish celebrities in conversation with leading Jewish authors. The series celebrates Jewish books, culture and storytelling while shining a light on the growing antisemitism Jewish authors are confronting in the literary world.
The first three episodes were made possible by a grant from UJA-Federation of New York, and the series is slated to air in 2027 on JLTV, which reaches more than 4 million mostly non-Jewish viewers each month across the U.S. and Canada.
We have filmed the first three episodes:
Episode 1 – Josh Radnor in conversation with Rabbi Sharon Brous.
Episode 2 – Emmauelle Chriqui paired with Holocaust fiction novelist Lisa Barr.
Episode 3 – Fred Melamed in conversation with NY Times best-selling novelist Tod Goldberg.
The remaining talent is lined up and distribution is in place. We are now seeking funding to produce the remaining nine episodes and complete the 12-episode first season.
