Project Overview

Framed by Paula’s final months in 1967–68, the series travels back and forth through time, revealing the private struggles and ethical compromises behind public milestones, such as: the establishment of the state, the status quo with the ultra-Orthodox, the emergence of Israel’s ethos of bereavement, and the birth of modern Israeli politics. Blending political drama, personal saga, and subtle satire, the series exposes how personal grievances, family wounds, and complex relationships shaped national decisions whose echoes are still felt today.

Supported by Israeli Public Broadcaster Kan 11, the limited series is slated to premiere as a flagship series marking the 80th anniversary of the State of Israel in 2028, with a high-profile release and supporting events.
